We recently launched Nod Business, our latest digital media management platform for small businesses.
Nod Business grew from our existing system Nod Enterprise - which is a great solution for large companies with elaborate digital messaging needs eg. multiple screens at many locations, complex playlist requirements, assets using live data feeds, conditional playing requirements, in-depth analytics etc.
(Nod Enterprise currently manages over 600 digital screens for BNZ. So if you’ve seen BNZ’s foreign exchange screens, you’ve seen Nod Enterprise.)
We realised that it takes time to understand all the features of a system like Nod Enterprise. Which is worth it if you need that level of detail— but expensive if you just want to get some content playing on a screen or two.
And that’s why Nod Business was developed.
Nod Business is perfect for organisations with a small number of screens, a few locations and a simple playlist. It’s built from the foundation of Nod Enterprise but it’s much easier to use.
As the product owner for Nod, it’s been very refreshing to remove features! I’ve always believed in stripped-down products that do a few things very well. With Nod Business I was able to avoid adding extra features that didn’t help a customer get content on their screens quickly. Simplicity was our watchword. And our goal was audacious: allow the user to be up and running within one minute of having the screen on the wall.
And we hit it!
As a result, we’ve got a true ‘plug and play’ experience. The Nod Business digital screens are ready to go when they arrive at the door— preloaded with sample content.
Nod customers simply drag and drop content into a channel on their Nod account and the screen retrieves it from the server automatically. You can even up load your playlist before the screen is delivered, so it’s ready to play straight out of the box.
Designed for larger organisations that have complex display needs, Nod Enterprise supports large digital teams that need to manage widespread advertising campaigns across multiple screens and locations. It also has the ability to fine tune playlists down to screen level. This is a system with lots of bells and whistles!
Need to run hundreds of screens? We’ve got it.
Need to run complex playlists? We’ve got it.
Need to show live data? Or support touch screens? Or change what plays based on tags for the screen or location?
We’ve got that too.
We’ve also just added audience measurement to Nod Enterprise. Users can now connect sense devices (such as cameras) to record audience data. Nod Enterprise Audience Measurement shows this data per camera.
Users can subscribe screens to cameras to see data around who’s looking at that screen. Or even set up a camera to provide audience measurement for a specific area in a store — rather than a specific screen. One of our customers is looking forward to using this feature to measure queue lengths, as a way of allocating staff more effectively during busy times.
Audience Measurement is our latest addition but it won’t be our last. We’ll be adding more detailed analytics soon so people can assess the effectiveness of their content by an individual asset.
As technology improves we’ll continue to enhance Nod Enterprise to take advantage of things like facial recognition, augmented reality and artificial intelligence. And we’ll always update our applications to respond to customers changing needs.
